In Memoriam: Dr. Branko Kolarevic (1963-2026)

SIGraDi mourns the passing of a true visionary and a pillar of the digital architecture community. Dr. Branko Kolarevic was a transformative leader whose work redefined the intersection of design, technology, and manufacturing. For our community, his loss is deeply personal. We had the immense honor of hosting him as a Keynote Speaker at our SIGraDi Conference just last year, where he once again inspired us with his brilliance and his forward-looking vision. A prolific author and former President of ACADIA and ACSA, Branko’s legacy is etched in the foundations of computational design. He was a mentor to generations and a “force” of nature who never wasted a moment in his quest to shape the future of architecture.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Vera Parlac, his son, Marko Kolarevic, and his colleagues at NJIT Hillier College of Architecture and Design.
